1. There is an art to mixing fabric patterns in a room successfully. The rule of thumb is to have one small, one medium and one large pattern (if they are all on the same color combo). You frequently will see this done in Shabby Chic and Victorian decors.

2. You should condition your paint brush bristles (especially the expensive ones). After using them, clean them as you normally would, then dip the bristles in liquid fabric softener and after they dry, store them away until next time. This will keep the bristels soft and liable and make them easier to clean the next time.
