| August 14 | Songs of the Night Nature Walk Where: Rotary Park Lions Pavilion (Wentzville, MO) Contact: 636-332-9236 Night time is the right time! Summer nights have a special magic, known only to a few who get close to nature. As the songs of the birds fade by early evening they are replaced by the night chorus of insects and frogs. Join us at dusk and journey into a world largely unknown to most and listen to this insect symphony as it fiddles and scrapes in the early night. Experience the thrill and possibly see animals such as owls, raccoons, and deer along with other species of wildlife that prowl the night as you explore the park. Don’t forget to dress for the weather, as this is an outdoor program (bug spray, a small flashlight, hiking boots, but absolutely no open toed or open heeled shoes). Participants will meet at the Lion’s Pavilion (lower pavilion) at Rotary Park. Depending upon an individual’s fitness level this walk is considered to be mild to moderate in difficulty. Participants must register with Wentzville Parks & Recreation, due to minimum and maximum participation limitations. (16 and under must have adult registered with them) |
